I can’t explain it, but being out of the church circles and trying to no longer be a “good Christian”, I believe I am actually a better person. Before, as a church person, I always felt like I needed to do more, give more, serve more or I wasn’t measuring up. I have come to find that obligation and compulsion are not very good motivators.

You are either a good person or not… and I don’t think your religious beliefs (or lack of them) has much to do with that. There are plenty of “spirit-filled” bad people in this world. What we need is down-to-earth good people… church-going Christians or not.
